When Lynn’s young son was diagnosed with autism at the age of two, she embarked on an unfamiliar journey through therapies, biomedical treatments, and special dietary restrictions. One morning while having coffee with her co-worker, Janice, and dis- cussing the full time job of implementing Jacob’s gluten free and casein free diet, Janice suggested creating a way to help other moms in the same situation.
After much thought and discussion they decided to create cookies that youngsters would not be able to tell the difference from the gluten- and dairy- based ones. The two ladies began a gluten and casein free cookie dough company and marketed their popular cookie dough to Whole Foods Markets, Native Sun, and other health food stores in the Jacksonville area. Soon their cookie dough was in all the Whole Foods Markets thoughout Florida. With increased demand for their cookie dough, they moved into a Food Processing facility which soon transformed into a gluten and casein free bakery.
In order to meet the needs and requests of their customers, the ‘Momsters’ offer not only cookie dough, but also ready-made cookie, brownies, cakes, cupcakes and muffins. The Momsters also joined forces with Chef Carol from Marjorie’s Kitchen Personal Chef Service. Marjorie's has provided Gluten-Free Meals to families in the Jacksonville area for over 10 years. The bakery now offers a full range of baked goods plus pies, snacks, and bread as well as wonderful fresh and frozen gluten and casein free entrees.
In 2010, Lynn's family said yes to a great career opportunity for Lynn's husband by moving to Tampa, Florida. Now The Cookie Momsters are truly regional with a bakery in Jacksonville, our cookie dough sold in stores throughout Florida, and Lynn's new venture: Cookie Momsters - Tampa!
The bakery has grown significantly in the past year -- we added more baked goods, more entrees, expanded the hours, and expanded the area for the storefront.
We thank everyone of our customers for making it possible!
