The Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD™)
The premise of the Specific Carbohydrate Diet is that a nourishing,
healthy, natural diet -- minus grains, sugar and preservatives --
restores a healthy digestive system.  The SCD™ is regarded by
many as the official treatment for children diagnosed on the autism
scale.  It is credited with giving dramatic results for those who
follow it.

We separate the entree from the vegetables in this diet plan because
many children on the autism scale who are the most helped by this
diet tend to not like certain, if any, vegetables.  The vegetables or
side dishes are customized for each family's taste.  Also, frequently
children who have been tested for food allergies have different
restrictions on which vegetables to avoid, again requiring
customization for side dishes.

In addition, as a covert measure, we often puree or mince
vegetables and either mix with the entree itself or put them into
sauces to serve with the entree rather than present them "flagrante"
which could result in consternation and rejection.
